This year started off with a focus on camp processes and leadership development. We hosted a multi-day retreat in Los Angeles in February. Following that, we were able to send a team to Nevada to assess the condition of our infrastructure following 2023's Mudpocalypse.
Then at Burning Man, we were placed on the Plaza at 7:30 and Breton, a most respectable location in the hopping 7:30 Sector. We were able to expand our 1950s Kitchen Stage by adding a large structure to provide shade and support for additional night-time lighting. We also welcomed several new people to the cast of Deaf Granny's Kitchen. After one of the roughest build weeks in years, with cold, strong winds, and rain, the gates opened and the entire week saw fantastic weather. We were able to forge meaningful connections with so many of our fellow Burners and are ever grateful for the opportunity.
