Deaf Granny’s Kitchen was founded at Burning Man in 2019 to support an interactive performance art project produced by Deaf Granny Arts. After several strong years of growth and creative development, we’re looking ahead to 2025 and have space available for a few new campers.
Our crew is a mix of crusty veteran burners, newer folks with a few burns under their belts, and enthusiastic first-timers. We have a communal water supply and a delicious camp dinner at sundown each night — can you cook? Let’s talk.
We also have:
• A large shaded structure for your tent
• A communal kitchen and dining space
• Support for out-of-town campers who need help with bikes or gear
• A happening lounge with music, a bar, and soft sofas for both chill time and good times
At DGK, everyone contributes to supporting our performance art project — that’s why we’re here! There are many ways to be involved: helping build the set, working as a stage assistant, preparing dinner for the team, decorating the lounge, looking after the parties we throw, or contributing to pre-event work during the summer. (You can help pre-event even if you’re not local — we’re based in Southern California.)

At Burning Man, everyone is a participant, not a spectator. If you’re interested in helping bring Deaf Granny’s Kitchen to life, hit the button below and fill out the camper questionnaire as soon as possible — we’re already diving into logistics. We can’t wait to see you on the playa!
